Food for thought.
We thought that tablets will replace PCs but that didn’t really happen. And, in my view, that’s mainly because (1) the cost of tablets were not low enough for it to be stationary and (2) the size is not small enough for it to be portable. Tablets sit in an awkward middle ground-not quite a replacement for the full functionality of a PC and not as convenient as a smartphone But, what about foldable phones?
Foldable phones re a fascinating innovation the tech world. They promise to bridge the gap between smartphones and tablets, offering the best of both world-portability and a lager screen when needed. But, looking at the product life cycle of many technological products, and for technology to evolve (and mature), it usually takes 4-6 versions of the same idea to develop (trialed and tested) before it gains traction in the commercial sector. Hence, early adopters are the ones who usually bare the higher cost on the risk involved.
Either way, the main question remains:
Will Foldable Phones be the one?
I don’t know the answer but I’m excited to find out.
